Building a Local Business Shopify Store: A Guide

• To add products click on Product option > add products.
• Complete the details of the product like title, description etc.
• Do not forget to upload images of your product as it can help in sales. Once everything is done click on the Save Product button.
• Another thing is that you have to group your products according to the collection for example if you are having a clothing store then you must have a page for kid’s clothing , or according to sizes and colors.

Step 3. Customize the look of your website

• Like all other websites your website must look attractive so that it will help in easy access to a customer and will increase traffic to your website. Shopify offers many built-in themes for your business website. You can select any of them according to your need and if you want to make more changes to the existing website, you always have an option to customise the pre-existing websites.
• Once you are done with the customization of the theme part, Shopify will ask you to confirm that you want to publish the theme. Click on Publish as my Shop’s Theme and you are done with it.
• But don’t worry as you always have an option to update or change the selected theme.

Step 4: Creating a domain for your website.
After publishing the theme the next step is to choose a domain name for the business website. Herewith Shopify you get an opportunity to create your own domain name for the business and make it official and live on the internet. It offers some predesigned domain names that you can purchase from Shopify or if you want to purchase it from outside, you are free for that too. You just need to add it into Shopify and you are done with the domain part.

Step 5: Choose your payment processor

• Now the next step to set up your payment processor for accepting payments. You need to choose a payment processor to receive money in your account. Although Shopify is also having its own payment processor which is extremely easy to implement. Choosing a payment method depends on several points like transaction fee , offsite checkout etc.
• Once you are done with selecting a payment processor for your business you are ready to launch your website.
